Become a fashion brand storyteller

The BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion and Communication degree can be tailored to your interests. You will explore fashion media production, fashion marketing and visual communication, including digital imaging and new media. You will learn the skills and techniques needed to effectively communicate and market fashion brands in this dynamic, fast-moving and exciting sector.

Our Fashion Promotion and Communication course includes a work-based learning opportunity where you can showcase your learning in a professional environment. Supported by the Ravensbourne Employability Team, recent work-based learning opportunities have include industry giants Urban Outfitters, Jimmy Choo, Stella McCartney, Vogue, Wonderland Magazine, Ralph Lauren, Ralph & Russo, Paul Smith, LK Bennett, Karen Millen, Harvey Nichols, Fashion Scout, Exposure, PR, All Saints and Black Diamond Films.

Delivered through a combination of practice and theory-based learning, you will develop your own unique voice across a number of channels, including: film, magazines, fashion photography, website design, journalism, brand communication and social media. Competitions and live briefs will provide real work scenarios to help you develop and integrate your skillset, whilst building key industry contacts.

Materials library

The Ravensbourne materials library is curated by Material ConneXion, a business that introduces brands to the latest material innovations.

The materials scientists at Material ConneXion select innovative materials relevant to the courses at Ravensbourne and that reflect current trends in design and manufacturing.

Samples of these materials are then added to the library so students and staff can browse the physical collection for inspiration, material ideas and applications.

The library hosts 1,500 material samples and an interactive table for further research and access to the Material ConneXion database.

The materials library can be used by external students registered with the SCONUL access scheme.

Our spacious and well-equipped fashion atelier means that our fashion students learn traditional, technical and creative skills such as draping, pattern cutting and machine sewing. But not only that. They can also push creative limits by designing and printing their own materials using our industry-standard fabric printers.

Alongside mastering the latest fashion technology, you will also be taught how to effectively use industry-standard software, such as Clo3D, Marvellous Designer and Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
