Take a break with Lisa Byrne
Join us as we sit down with members of the Ravensbourne community to hear about what they're up to, what they enjoy doing in their free time, and - most importantly - what is their favourite break-time snack?
Hi there! What is your name and role at Ravensbourne?
Hi, my name is Lisa Byrne. I joined 9 months ago as Head of Strategic Delivery. The Strategic Delivery Team includes both the Business Intelligence & Planning team alongside the Project Management Office (PMO).
It’s time for a coffee break! What’s your go-to drink or snack?
Quite unusual but I don’t drink tea or coffee, so hot chocolate is my go-to hot drink.
Any exciting projects on the horizon?
Hopefully everyone is now aware, that work is well underway on defining the strategy for the next five years. Strategy2030, as it’s referred to, will launch initially as a high level strategy document but underpinning this there will be a variety of key strategic projects which are currently being defined and scoped. We’ve recently relaunched the PMO intranet page where staff can find out more.
What do you get up to in your free time?
There’s not much free time with a six and four year old but I’m trying desperately to fit in some Pilates these days, and still take advantage of all that living in London offers, finally making it to Wimbledon last summer!
What is something that people may not know about you?
I do not come from a Higher Education (HE) background but I’ve spent the last 12 years in various project/programme/strategic roles across the NHS landscape.
What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?
Don’t overthink the next five years, live in the moment!
