Join us as we sit down with members of the Ravensbourne community to hear about what they're up to, what they enjoy doing in their free time, and - most importantly - what is their favourite break-time snack?

Today we are joined by Holly Ayres, featured fourth from the right on the photo, next to June Sarpong.

Hi there! What is your name and role at Ravensbourne?

Hello! My name is Holly and I’m the Digital and Content Manager.

It’s time for a coffee break! What’s your go-to drink or snack?

Tea and toast is always a winner. Mine would be hot sourdough, salted butter, and honey with a big cup of rooibos tea. If I’m on-the-go, I’ll always have a bag of sweet and salted popcorn with me - it’s the best.

Any exciting projects on the horizon?

It’s great to be joining Rave just before the New Year starts, as there are lots of exciting projects already in the works which will shape our digital content strategy for the year ahead.

I’m really looking forward to working on some new video content for all our digital channels, showcasing what it means to be a student at Rave, everything we offer, and all that we achieve.

What are you most looking forward to right now?

I can’t wait to come back after Christmas and really settle into my role at Rave, meet more people around campus and work with them to communicate all the amazing things that are happening here.

Outside of work, I’m really excited to start planning a wedding, as I recently got engaged down in Cornwall!

What is something that people may not know about you?

I’m half English, half South African, but I’m fluent in French and Spanish (having studied Modern Languages and European Studies at University of Bath).

What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

Everything always works out the way it’s supposed to, so try not to worry so much and just take things one step at a time.

Quickfire questions

I can’t stop listening to… Morgan Wallen. He’s a country singer that I discovered this year as my fiancé is a BIG fan. If you’re up for an easy intro to Country music, try his song ‘One Thing at a Time’ – promise it won’t disappoint.

My favourite way to exercise is… boxing.

My guilty pleasure is… Smarties. Don’t @ me.

If I won an all-expenses-paid trip, I’d go to… the Caribbean. St Lucia is top of my travel bucket list.
