Winter ceremony

We are delighted to announce that we will host this year's Graduation Ceremonies on Monday 21 October and Tuesday 3 December 2024.

The ticket sale opening date will published here soon.

All eligible students will be contacted via email with details on how to book tickets, gowns, and photography.

Monday 21 October 2024 ceremonies will welcome September Undergraduate and May Postgraduate cohort graduands.
Tuesday 3 December 2024 ceremonies will welcome September Postgraduate cohort graduands.

Deadline

Monday 21 October ceremonies:

The deadline to register graduands and purchase guest tickets is Monday 7 October.
The deadline for guest tickets, photography, and gowning refunds is Monday 14 October.

Tuesday 3 December ceremonies:

The deadline to register graduands and purchase guest tickets is Tuesday 19 November.
The deadline for guest tickets, photography, and gowning refunds is Tuesday 26 November.

If you are undecided about coming, it is better to register and withdraw later if necessary. After those deadlines, any refund request should be emailed to Ede & Ravenscroft customer service for processing post-ceremony.

Eligibility

Undergraduate and postgraduate students who are eligible to attend graduation will be invited via email.

If you are expecting to successfully complete your course, and providing that you have no outstanding debts to Ravensbourne (including library fines), you will be eligible to attend your graduation ceremony. If you are uncertain about your eligibility, please email Registry.

Name checking

It is important for us that you enjoy every aspect of your Graduation Day. This year, we are using a new AI platform to make sure your name is correctly pronounced before you walk on stage to collect your scroll.

The AI name-reading tool will allow you hear your name read and approve it, re-write it, or record it with your microphone.

Keep an eye out for email communications as we will send you a link to check your name reading. To log into the platform you will need your email address and student ID handy, these details will be emailed to you beforehand and will be the same details you will need to purchase your Graduation gown, tickets and photography packages.

The deadline to have your name pronunciation checked is:

Monday 14 October for the ceremonies on Monday 21 October
Tuesday 26 November for the ceremonies on Tuesday 3 December.

Graduands

All graduand tickets are free of charge and include a complimentary programme, and a glass of prosecco or soft drink.

You will receive an email invitation by the end of July for the October ceremonies and the end of September for the December ceremonies. Those with retrievals will be invited later in October / November once their grades are confirmed. The email will provide details on how to register for the ceremony and book guest tickets, photography, and gowns via Ede & Ravenscroft’s graduation services. Please ensure you have your Student ID number as it will ask for this.

Guests

Guest tickets are £25 each. All tickets include a complimentary glass of prosecco or soft drink.

Each graduand is allocated two guest tickets during the first release of tickets. Any unsold guest tickets will be available to purchase in a secondary release of tickets. These tickets will be allocated on a first come first served basis and you will be notified by email when these become available. The sale of guest tickets online will close two weeks before your ceremony date.

More guest tickets will be available to buy on the day of Graduation at the Barbican. They will be at the same price as the online sale, £25 per guest ticket, and will also include a complimentary glass of prosecco or soft drink. No cash or contactless payments (including smartphones and smartwatches) will be accepted, please make sure to bring your debit or credit card.

Frequently Asked Questions

Children under 5 years old do not require a ticket. Children can attend the ceremony but it is an official formal ceremony that lasts over an hour so we do not recommend bringing babies or small children. Children under 14 must be seated and accompanied by an adult.

There are no crèche facilities available at the venue and children of graduands must sit with guests instead of the graduand. If you would like an aisle seat to have the option to easily exit the ceremony during its proceedings please contact us. Buggies can be left at the Barbican cloakroom during the ceremony.

You cannot attend the graduation ceremonies whilst in debt to Ravensbourne. These debts can consist of unpaid fees for tuition or accommodation, library fines, CLR fines and printing charges. Debts also include unreturned books, DVDs or equipment.
