In recognition of their outstanding contributions to their respective fields, Vice President of Design at Apple, Richard Howarth, and visionary entrepreneur and international-acclaimed property developer, Richard Upton, were awarded honorary doctorates at Ravensbourne’s autumn graduation ceremony.

The honorary degrees were presented to Howarth and Upton during Ravensbourne’s autumn ceremony held at the Barbican, London, where both individuals also delivered an impactful speech to the graduating students and guests.

Richard Howarth, known for his ground-breaking work at Apple, played a pivotal role in the development of some of the most iconic consumer products of the 21st century, including the iPhone and Apple Watch. His design philosophy, which blends functionality with elegance, has had a profound impact on product design globally. Howarth’s contributions to the world of industrial design continue to inspire new generations of designers.
