Ravensbourne University London is excited to announce its participation in the prestigious 'Accelerate' programme, run by Open City.

This new collaboration sees Ravensbourne join the ranks of other leading institutions in architectural education in supporting this landmark initiative, which aims to widen access to architectural and built environment education.

Accelerate is an award-winning education and mentoring programme, designed to support students from underrepresented backgrounds and provide them with access to architectural, engineering, and built environment studies.

By joining the programme, Ravensbourne will help increase the course's capacity to 120 student places from October—the largest cohort in the history of the programme.

Alberto quote

“We are thrilled to welcome students from the programme to our university, where they can explore new ways of thinking and designing for a sustainable and equitable future, but also to explore the multiple pathways they can take in any creative industries through our model of architectural education .”

Open City’s Accelerate programme seeks to address the systemic barriers that students from disadvantaged backgrounds often face when pursuing careers in the built environment sector. By offering access to mentoring, industry networks, and university-level learning environments, the programme works to foster a more diverse and inclusive generation of future architects, designers, and engineers.
