Publication date:

A group of students at Ravensbourne University London are to taking part in a pioneering collaboration with Uncommon Creative Studio, which seeks to bridge creativity, business and technology. This partnership will see the launch of a Pop-Up Creative Incubator designed to explore and redefine Britain's visual identity in an era of unprecedented cultural and technological change.

The four-week residency, starting today and running until 10 April, will bring together talented students from across Ravensbourne's diverse portfolio of courses, creating a dynamic, co-created studio environment that mirrors real-world industry settings. This initiative builds upon Ravensbourne's strong industry connections, offering students a transformative opportunity to work within one of the most forward-thinking creative agencies.

Derek Yates quote

The incubator will operate three days per week and will feature a programme consisting of workshops, mentoring sessions, and inspirational talks from industry leaders. To provide insight into creative processes, the residency will also include a major documentary component: a comprehensive film project led by students from our Digital Film Production course.

Students will work in a professional agency environment, creating a unique space where academic exploration meets commercial creativity. This approach aligns perfectly with Ravensbourne's mission, which emphasises hands-on experience and real-world application of creativity, technological skills and business acumen.

The residency represents an opportunity to demonstrate the relationship between Ravensbourne and industry, with each continually learning alongside, and from, one another. It will culminate in a special industry showcase where students will present their work to Uncommon staff and invited industry professionals.

Collaborations like these are underpinned by Ravensbourne’s new 2030 strategy, which seeks to ensure that Ravensbourne continues to provide students with unique opportunities to engage with industry leaders and develop the skills needed to shape the future of the creative, business and technology sectors.
