Our third-year BA (Hons) Advertising and Brand Design students have won an incredible four awards at the 2022 D&AD New Blood Awards, one of the most important advertising competitions in the world.

Ravensbourne students will take home four ‘pencil’ trophies at the awards, which are considered a global benchmark for new talent in branding and advertising. Competition for these distinguished awards is fierce – thousands of students from well over 100 different countries enter each year.

We are extremely proud that four groups of our students have been named as winners, which is an amazing achievement. The winners are Marius Nordström and Oscar Sandgvist; Zain Ilyas and Calvin Kasule, Ivan Donadio, Jood Alasfoor and Taohid Miah, and Petter Ogren and Adam Thornell Bergvall.

The New Blood Awards are extremely well regarded by the creative industry, and having a 'pencil' to their names will open doors as they step out into the professional world.

The 'pencils' come in varying levels, including wood, graphite, yellow, white and black. The grades awarded to each team will be revealed during an awards ceremony on Thursday 14 July 2022.

Including this latest batch, our advertising and brand design course has now won a 11 'pencils' total in the last five years, solidifying our graduates as among the world's best.

The awards present briefs set by real clients, which are then judged by the industry’s top creatives. It is open to advertising, design, digital and marketing students, recent graduates and emerging creatives worldwide. It’s an unparalleled opportunity to get a head start and land a job in the creative industry.

This year, 18 of the most recognisable brands in the world invited entrants to fulfil their briefs, including Disney, Netflix, Audible, the BBC, Duolingo, Google, Penguin, Snapchat, Walkers, and many more.
