ISMIS is directed and curated by Dr Barbara Matas Moris, Senior Lecturer on Ravensbourne’s BA (Hons) Digital Film Production course and Rebecca Baron from the California Institute of the Arts. The event showcases the works of BA, MA, PhD students and alumni from various, global universities, film schools, and educational programs. The ISMIS showcase is built around the theme of ‘The Self and The Other’, with global students presenting films that capture the essence of identity. The showcase explores the meaning and politics of self-representation.

The Ravensbourne students who are participating in the showcase were part of an elective module on Experimental and Art film, designed by Barbara. There are also several third-year students who worked with Barbara on their Final Major Projects during their third of study.
