Ravensbourne University London lecturer creates Yoshio Kubo portrait for The New Order magazine anniversary cover
Sunil Pawar, Advertising and Brand Design lecturer at Ravensbourne University, was commissioned by Japanese lifestyle and fashion magazine ‘The New Order’ to design a portrait of fashion designer Yoshio Kubo for their anniversary issue front cover.
Marking a significant shift for The New Order, it is the first time the magazine has opted for custom artwork instead of its traditional photography. This special edition cover is accompanied by a collaboration t-shirt, combining Pawar’s technique with Kubo’s cutting-edge fashion aesthetic.
The collaboration was launched at MidWest Gallery in Shibuya-Ku, Tokyo.

I have been a fan of Yoshio Kubo since his 2012 AW ready to wear collection, so this was a great commission. All elements of the artwork were hand painted and drawn then composited together in the UK studio.”
