2024 has been another brilliant year for Ravensbourne!

As we approach the end of 2024, we’re excited to reflect on the remarkable achievements of our students, staff, and partners. 

From groundbreaking collaborations with major industry names, to award-winning student projects, this year has been full of inspiring moments. Our students have not only excelled academically but also showcased their work across the country, secured industry placements, and contributed to some truly innovative projects. 

It’s been a year of growth, creativity, and success — from the launch of new creative initiatives to the continued recognition of our staff’s achievements.

Students had the opportunity to design a new Aqua Libra logo

Students win chance to design new brand identity for Aqua Libra

February 2024 

Ravensbourne collaborate with several creative institutions. This year, a student had the opportunity to design a new brand identity for Aqua Libra in collaboration with Brivtic, with the winner also receiving work experience with design agency Brand Opus.

April 2024 

Our annual collaboration with Koppaberg saw a third year student have her designs printed on 8.5 million limited edition bottles of cider.

Ravensbourne Digital Film Production students showcased their final-year work at the prestigious Curzon cinema in Soho, with an award presented for Most Inclusive Production, sponsored by the BFI (British Film Institute).

BA (Hons) Motion Graphics course leader, Adrian Baxter, collaborated with top creative studio weareseventeen to debut the OPN Festival, a new London-based motion design festival.

Katie Fisher wins RIBA Rising Star Award

RIBA Rising Star award

October 2024 

Katie Fisher, a sessional tutor from our Department of Architecture, was awarded with the Rising Star Award 2024 from the Royal Institute of British Architects. Katie wowed judges with both her dedication to making a positive change in the profession and her commitment to ensuring more people have a voice in their local built environment.

Ravensbourne students win Creative Conscience awards

October 2024 

Three students and a recent graduate from our Advertising and Brand Design course won three awards for their environmentally and socially conscious advertising campaigns. The awards were presented by Creative Conscience, a not-for-profit organisation.

Head of Architecture receives Freedom of the City of London award

Head of Architecture awarded Freedom of the City of London

November 2024 

Head of Architecture and Associate Professor Alberto Villanueva has been awarded as Freeman of the City of London by The Worshipful Company of Chartered Architects. 

The City recognises individuals who have made a significant impact in their field to take up freedom to acknowledge their particular contribution. Alberto joins the register of freemen who include Lord Nelson, Desmond Tutu, Florence Nightingale, Normal Foster and other influential individuals. He is only one of three Spanish figures to ever be granted this honour.

Ravensbourne University lecturer in action doing artwork

Lecturer creates cover for The New Order magazine

November 2024

Advertising and Brand Design lecturer, Sunil Pawar, was commissioned by Japanese lifestyle and fashion magazine 'The New Order' to create a portrait of fashion designer Yoshio Kubo for their anniversary issue front cover. This is the first time a non-photography cover has been created for the publication, alongside a collaboration t-shirt.
