Natalie Ashman MA, PGCE
Biography
Natalie Ashman is Academic Head of Further Education, leading programme direction for courses in Pre-degree for 16-18 learners, Access to Higher Education for adult learners and Apprenticeships.
Trained at University of the Arts London, Brighton University and Goldsmiths, University of London, Natalie is a highly progressive leader and curriculum specialist of 16 years working in schools, colleges and universities across the UK.
Natalie's commitment to staff and students to make authentic change is demonstrated in programme results - with 97% achieving pass rates and 92% of students progressing into HE and Employment, both above national benchmarks. Achieved through a culture of inclusive practices that enables opportunities for student and staff voice, empowering cultural capital, and meaningful approaches to autonomy.
Natalie is proficient in cultural exchanges taking first generation students to Beijing in China to participate in a British Council project, over a period of 2 years and 4 exchanges. Her experience as an international creative in resident at Fabrica's creative research centre Italy has underpinned a drive for accessible curriculum to encourage inclusion and mattering to be at the forefront of creative industries.
As a graphic designer and illustrator, Natalie has worked with organisations such as The United Nations, Vogue Italia and The British Council.
