Louise Gadd

Biography

Louise is taking the graphic design world by storm. Since graduation she has completed an internship at Jimmy Choo’s global headquarters and now works as a designer at online fashion retailer Net-A-Porter.

For Louise, Ravensbourne has always stood out as being a hub for innovation and technology. She chose the Graphic Design course because of the wide range of specialisms it covered. This variety gave her the chance to discover what she wanted to pursue after graduation.

The location and look-and-feel of the university also appealed to Louise. Originally from London, she was keen to study in the city and the aesthetic of the building inspired her. Its open-plan design provided many opportunities for collaboration.

Studying at Ravensbourne gave Louise a newfound confidence as both a designer and as an individual. During her time at university she learnt to be ambitious in the work she produced. She felt the tutors played a huge role in her success as a student, encouraging her to meet her full potential.

A highlight from Louise’s time at Ravensbourne was winning a D&AD Yellow Pencil Award in her third year and attending the ceremony. The degree show also gave her the chance to showcase her work, network with industry specialists, and secure her first graduate job.

Commenting on the opportunities that Ravensbourne provided she said, “Not only was I presented with several opportunities to pursue within the industry, but the skills I had learnt from industry-relevant briefs, exhibitions and workshops had set the foundations to professional working life.”
