Kim and Kofi Ansah

Biography

Kim and Kofi met as students at Ravensbourne and are now married and running a business together. Their business, K&K LABS is a London based brand dedicated to raising awareness for endangered animals using silk scarves and stationery.

Kim and Kofi both have a creative background and met while Kim was studying on the Fashion course and Kofi studied Animation.

Kim honed her artistic skills at Ravensbourne and now creates carefully hand illustrated designs which feature throughout their products, whilst Kofi's background as a 

They have been running their ethical fashion business for the past few years and have collaborated with the likes of the Natural History Museum. 

An inspirational expedition to Mongolia in 2015 led to a decision to donate some of the proceeds of K&K sales to the Ikh Nart Nature Reserve in Mongolia. K&K donate 10% of their annual profits to animal and nature charities each year.

Balancing business and family life

The business is currently operating at a slower pace after the arrival on their first born two years ago. Dedicating more time to family life has meant that the business has taken a back seat, however with most of the sales generated online they are able to keep things ticking over nicely.

Commenting on this Kofi said: “It’s always challenging running a business when kids come into the picture, but we have adapted and going at a pace comfortable to us, to balance out family life and business.”

Working with each other hasn't always come easily to the pair. Their tips on working together in harmony include being clear about your mission and having a mentor. Finding a mentor has helped them grow and focus on what's important for the business going forward.
