Biography

Holly Birtles is a photographic artist. Her practice incorporates performance, prop production and digital and analogue techniques and is informed by multi-disciplinary collaborations with writers and musicians.

Birtles exhibits regularly locally and internationally and continues to work with musicians, artists and writers to inform new ideas and collaborations.

Birtles has worked as a lecturer and external examiner across a range of institutions contributing to courses in Further and Higher Education including Level 3, BA and MA courses.

Her exploratory practice provides research into practice-based and theoretical associated subjects including: photography and materiality, photography and phenomenology, process-based research, contemporary fashion photography and fashion moving image, the conceptual image and performance and photography.
