Darren Stacey BA(Hons), DipArch, MAUD, RIBA, ARB

Biography

Darren Stacey is a qualified architect who runs a small practice in southeast London. In his career he has worked extensively in the design of residential, commercial and education buildings and continues to expand his portfolio of work in these fields.

Darren has been teaching at Ravensbourne as a sessional tutor for more than 7 years and recently joined as a Senior Lecturer in Architecture. He teaches Part 1 and Part 2 students on the RIBA Studio course, where he is also a course examiner.

As well as being a qualified architect, Darren also has a Master’s degree in urban design and contributes to the teaching of our students across a broad range of subjects. Darren is particularly interested in place making and identity in architecture and urban design and its place in creating sustainable buildings and communities. He is committed to encouraging students to explore ideas about spatial design through dialogue, drawing and model making and by visiting buildings and places which inspire them to develop a critical position on their world.

In his time away from work and academia, Darren enjoys travelling and painting. While he loves living in London and all it has to offer, he is also a very keen hill walker and, when time permits, he likes to get out of London and up a mountain.
