Adila Nasrin

Biography

From being nominated by her tutors to showcase work at the Dubai Global Graduate Show for the D&AD Awards, to securing a position as Creative Intern at Apple Europe Headquarters - Adila's career is already a success story, and she's only just begun.

Before starting her studies at Ravensbourne Adila already had a design background, but she had struggled to incorporate all her design skills into one place. When she attended an open day talk for the Advertising and Brand Design course, something clicked.

It was the course's diverse modules, which touched on everything from brand communication and social media content to strategy and even interactive advertising, which grabbed her attention.

For Adila, another benefit to studying at Ravensbourne was its strong links to industry and the chance to work on real live briefs. With ongoing support from the tutors, her presentation skills massively improved and she was invited to give a presentation on how to pitch to visiting student apprentices.

In her second year, Adila fought off tough competition to win the chance to create the branding for Ravensbourne's 2018 degree show. This opportunity allowed her to work collaboratively with students from different disciplines and proved to be something employers were impressed to see in her portfolio.

Adila's advice to new students is to choose a course that you are passionate about and to always prepare. She concludes: "Always trust your ideas; a lot of the time I would not have faith in my projects because of other factors, but to have a good outcome, you have to believe in your idea."
