Concept and creative process
‘Wuffer’ was a children’s drama series about a dog warden known as Wuffer, whose job was to follow up leads on missing dogs. A hand drawn animated sequence seemed appropriate for the titles. I gave some style images as reference to the animator together with a storyboard of the sequence. The animation was shot top-lit on a film rostrum camera.
Animation - Brian Larkin.
Graphic Design and Creative Direction - Liz Friedman.
More Information
Wuffer titles storyboard

Hand-drawn storyboard by Liz Friedman to show the basic idea of the dog jumping through a decorative border after a ball and wiping on the logo. This was done simply in outline pencil but was also used as an indication of the very specific styling required. The storyboard would have been used as an aid to explain the idea directly to the producer or director and animator.
