Revolutionary Witness (1989)

Concept and creative process

A series of four monologues based on eyewitness accounts of the ordinary men and women who made the French Revolution. Performed by actors, the series was broadcast over the four days leading up to July 14th 1989, the 200th anniversary of the beginning of the French Revolution. The title sequence is the same as that created for the docudrama series ‘The French Revolution’ broadcast earlier the same month, with a new end board.
