Concept and creative process
Opening titles for ‘The Money Programme’, a finance and business affairs series offering the latest stories from the world of business and work which ran from 1966 to 2010. Designer Chris Fynes recalls how the shoot of his titles was done: “This title sequence was made up in the same way as my 1978 version. The 50p coin was mounted on a rotating jig to allow it to be shot single frame and subsequently turned into pegged artwork with corresponding mattes. This time I shot all the background sequences on 35mm, the world, the hands, sparks, falling money and superimposed images of the logo. This material was subsequently composited together with a variety of mattes on an aerial-image rostrum camera set-up as before”.
