Opening titles for the documentary series confronting social and political issues in contemporary society. ‘Man Alive’ ran on BBC2 for nearly 500 programmes between 1965 and 1981. The logo had been in use since the launch with only minor variations as here in the height of some of the letters and the selective use of the outline of the letterform. Its function here was to be a window on the world of issues it dealt with, combining the shot footage with rostrum camera moves on the logo in a film optical.
