Concept and creative process
Alan Jeapes revised his original title for 'EastEnders' as the landscape had changed over the years with the regeneration of Docklands and particularly the construction of the Millennium Dome (now the O2) for the Millennium Exhibition and celebrations. From the air the huge dome structure was now a prominent landmark. He reconstructed this in computer graphics using architectural plans and cross-sections. He took the opportunity of reworking the surface of the Thames in CGI and the aerial view in general, using a montage of satellite images to complete the upgrade.
