Concept and creative process
The Marquess of Anglesey presents a documentary which traces the development of castles in Wales from early earth and timber Motte & Baileys through to the mighty stone castles and garrison towns of Edward I. A BBC Wales production.
A silhouetted graphic shape of a castle gateway, portcullis and castellated ramparts were filmed on a rostrum camera, with the programme title and credits printed on cels and registered over the castle background.
