Concept and creative process
Opening titles for a dramatisation of the John Masefield book. Kay Harker is entrusted with an ancient magical box that transports him through time and space, where he battles terrifying forces and meets mythical heroes. To create the titles, live action of the revolving magical box was filmed and combined in a film optical with still photographs of the cast in costume and animals filmed on a rostrum camera with camera moves and animated effects.
