Concept and creative process
The book itself was the obvious visual hook for this title sequence for 'The Book Programme', with the pages becoming the background for vignettes of all kinds of readers and settings in which people read, and the cover becoming the place for the programme title logo. Live action of leafing through the pages of a book is followed by a stills sequence shot on a rostrum of vignetted photos of readers against some out of focus text. There is a take-over by live action again as the shadow of the closing book cover passes over the final vignetted image to reveal the programme logo on the book's cover.
