Concept and creative process
An ident for the 1991 BBC1 Spring and Summer presentation campaign. A sequence of live action studio shots of children on the beach running in the sun and passing a row of sun worshippers lounging on sunbeds, made in the shape of the BBC '1'. Their prone bodies echoed the shape of the vertical counter inside the '1', thereby completing the illusion of the logo. The shots that included the sky and seagulls were filmed against green screen and composited in post-production at Cell Animation.
