Concept and creative process
‘Warp' was originally commissioned to be part of the Winter campaign that included ‘Excalibur’, ‘Catalyst’, ‘Wave’, ‘Woodpecker’, ‘Predator’ and ‘Kebab’. These were the first series of Idents to be shot in the 16x9 screen ratio and were released on January 1st 2000. ‘Warp’ was shot stop frame in-camera using a series of replacement models to achieve the movement of the ‘2’. The finished ident was ultimately rejected as it was considered too abstract.
