Concept and creative process
The ident 'Feel Good' by David McLeod was the very first ident of the new BBC Two rebrand to be aired at the launch on 27 September 2018. The atmospheric sound design for this and all the other idents in the redesign was created by Alex Baranowski. The curve of the '2' is defined by CGI pink and red coloured malleable shapes which squeeze together to fill all of the available screen space. The blobs split apart at intervals, revealing a white background and morph into other shapes and colours before reassembling in slightly different configurations each time and morphing back to the 'Feel Good' pink and red colour palette. This fascinating ident is used to introduce a broad cross section of programmes.
