Concept and creative process
A third Cube animation tweak in 1970 saw the background revert to black, retaining the same overall layout and type style in white as its predecessor with a purple blue '2' on a black cube background. The colour was achieved by adding a synthetic colour-generation process to the camera’s monochrome output. The animation was controlled by a NODDY device with the revolving cube triggered remotely on cue by the Continuity Announcer in the Presentation Studio gallery. This version of the Cube animation was in use until 1974.
