Students from Ravensbourne University London’s MSc International Fashion Marketing and MBA Fashion: Business Entrepreneurship courses had the opportunity to explore some of the industry’s most iconic institutions through a series of exclusive field trips this year.

The first trip, which took place on 4 February, saw students visit Lightroom for the Vogue: Inventing the Runway exhibition, offering a fascinating exploration of the heritage and future of fashion shows as a platform for storytelling. The attendees were also treated to a talk by Daniel Lee, Creative Director of Burberry, who shared insights into his design journey and the inspirations behind his work.

In addition, students on the MBA Fashion: Business Entrepreneurship course had the chance to visit the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum on 20 January, where they immersed themselves in the world-renowned collections of costume and dress. The trip was part of an induction process for the new intake of students, designed to deepen their understanding of the history and heritage of fashion.

Another key field trip involved a VIP behind-the-scenes tour of Selfridges on 15 January. This exclusive visit focused on the retail powerhouse's rich heritage and its commitment to sustainability in fashion. Students from both courses explored the store's operations and learned about the industry’s challenges and solutions.

Through these visits, students were able to not only gain a deeper understanding of the legacy of fashion but also engage with its future, particularly in relation to sustainability, storytelling, and innovation.

These field trips form an essential part of Ravensbourne's commitment to offering students a truly immersive learning experience, giving them access to real world insights and opportunities that equip them for success in their chosen industries.
