Sabela Peinado

Biography

Sabela is a multidisciplinary artist, lecturer and curator. Her primary form oscillates between photography, moving images, music and performance art. She holds two first-class BA degrees, Fine Arts and Digital Photography, and is currently studying at Central Saint Martins in the MA Performance: Screen program.

Sabela is interested in making transgressive and activist work in a constant search for equity and social justice and platforming the voices of those who are often under or misrepresented. Working closely with a range of communities, Sabela’s work also shows a firm interest in the uncanny worlds of social media, the mystical and the ritualistic. She has exhibited both nationally and internationally and has been awarded by organisations such as WUD (World University of Design), Inside Out (Atlantic Center of the Arts, Florida), Muestra de Arte Joven (La Rioja), and ARTEC (A Coruña).
