Biography

Nukhet Vardar has been working in Marketing and Advertising, both as an academician and as a professional over 30 years. Vardar holds MSc and PhD in International Marketing/Advertising from University of Manchester Institute of Science & Technology (former UMIST). She taught undergrad, MBA and PhD students on topics of Marketing, Advertising and Promotions, Integrated Marketing Communications at multiple universities.

Vardar also worked at Turkish subsidiaries of international companies and agencies such as Henkel, FCB, Y&R, as Brand Manager, Research, Media Manager, and Account Planner. She was the founding Managing Director of Initiative Media Istanbul, turning the company to Turkey's largest media agency in 1997 & 1998. Nukhet Vardar continued her academic degrees while pursuing professional life. She was a full-time lecturer at Yeditepe University, Economics and Business Admin. Faculty, Istanbul, being appointed as Professor in Marketing in 2004.

While teaching, Vardar also formed her own marketing and communications consultancy for new content creation based on data analysis. In 2016, she established her London based ed-tech company, Brands Whisper’g® Consultancy Ltd to internationalize an original e-learning product idea she has developed and adapt it to international markets. Vardar is currently continuing her consultancy work. Her research interests relate to international marketing/ advertising, brand development; with a special focus on case writing and new pedagogy development for business studies. Her cases are published by Sage Online, USA; Henry Stewart Talks, Emerald. She is the author of 12 books, 6 book chapters, 60+ articles, 30+ business cases.
