Join us as we sit down with members of the Ravensbourne community to hear about what they're up to, what they enjoy doing in their free time, and - most importantly - what is their favourite break-time snack?

Hi there! What are your names and what did you study at Ravensbourne?

“Hi, we are Kirsty and Brittany and we studied BA (Hons) Graphic Design, graduating in 2020.”

It’s time for a coffee break! What are your go-to drinks or snacks?

Brittany: Oat iced latte

Kirsty: Cappuccino

Tell us about what you are doing now.

“We are currently working full-time for ourselves, under K&B Design. We paint interior and exterior murals for a variety of different clients.”

What is the best part of your job?

“Definitely the freedom of working for yourself and with your bestie. Also, we love that every project is so different. No week or project is ever the same.”

Are you working on any exciting projects?

“We have just finished painting at the Chelsea Flower Show for Beards & Daisies, a house plant company. They have a stand with the theme of ‘Plant school’. We created a colourful school-like mural, with plants and handprints which was super fun to be involved in.

For this year's Mental Health Awareness Week, we are painting a mural at The Cross Keys pub. We wanted to create an uplifting piece of artwork that raises awareness for mental health and anxiety in a calming and supportive way.

We have a QR code going onto the wall, which directs to important information on what to do when you are feeling anxious and has the donation page for Thurrock and Brentwood Mind.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

“Our proudest accomplishment would be going full-time in March 2022. We worked so hard part-time with our other jobs before we could eventually make the jump to working for our business full-time.”

What is something that people may not know about you?

“We met in primary school and have been friends most of our lives!”
