Concept and creative process
The idea was to show an array of different sportsmen and women in action, intercut with movement over the specially designed programme logo using a slit-scan technique. Sport action was captured live on film against black with only back light illuminating the players' silhouettes. Each frame was then printed as a black & white transparency and filmed slit-scan with coloured gels on the rostrum. The logo was shown in bold perspective and by tracking into and out from the tiny gap inside the central letter S.
