Out of the Unknown (1965)

Concept and creative process

The titles for 'Out of the Unknown', a series of new science-fiction plays, required an intriguing but non-specific visual solution. Stock shots and specially created optical illusion patterns filmed on the rostrum camera, combined with a face frozen in a scream and a mannequin falling repeatedly through space contrived to create an eerie sense of suspense and intrigue.

Lighting Cameraman - Alan Featherstone.
