Concept and creative process
‘Omnibus’ was as an Arts programme broadcast on BBC One from 1967-2003. The programme was the successor to the long-running Arts strand ‘Monitor’. The brief for the titles was to represent the show’s varied and diverse arts content from the past right up to present day. Joanna Ball’s solution was to film live action of artists and artefacts to create abstract letterforms subtly spelling the title OMNIBUS.
