Designs on Britain (1985)

Concept and creative process

Titles for a series of documentaries on design and how it shapes the world we live in needed to be non-specific, but at the same time say something about design and creativity in Britain. The concept was all about light – the light bulb moment, the moment when the creative idea miraculously dawns on the designer – extrapolating to the light pen and literally drawing with light the title of the programme. The working models were made by Stephen Greenfield.
