Concept and creative process

Titles for a programme which gives viewers the chance to trade in celebrity gossip on a virtual stock exchange. The brief was to create a title sequence that reflected the show’s premise, that the rise and fall of celebrity popularity equated to a virtual stock exchange, where the more they were in the news the higher their worth. The aim was to reflect our celebrity-obsessed world. We wanted to show celebrities everywhere in their own VIP club. The idea was for the camera to zoom around and to find a celebrity everywhere it landed. To achieve this we hired a load of celebrity lookalikes (Madonna, Robbie Williams, Posh and Becks, etc) and shot them against green screen – it was a very amusing shoot! In post-production we created the ‘VIP club’ using CGI.
