Concept and creative process
This was the maintitle sequence for the 2002 season of 'Casualty', BBC Television's longest-running medical drama series. The programme has been on-air since 1986 and is currently (in 2020) on its 34th series. The production brief was to depart from the usual approach of using a montage of production footage in the titles and to move to a solution that was more motion graphics based. Rhea Arahna created her design solution from found imagery, composited in a digital editing suite, and used strong 2D and 3D graphic shapes to create transitions between the found footage clips in a continuously flowing visual narrative.
