The Bob Monkhouse Show (1986)

Concept and creative process

Opening titles for a show in which Bob Monkhouse introduced the best of comic talent from both sides of the Atlantic. The titles were an excellent example of where the cutting edge was in the field of television 3D CGI in the mid-1980s. Following on from his award winning titles for ‘The Paul Daniel’s Show’ in 1985, Graham Kern designed another brilliant logo animation, this time dissecting the elements of the show’s logo and choreographing them to assemble themselves. As a final touch, he made the yellow spheres into the counters of the two ‘B’s and the blue one into the ‘o’ in the name ‘BoB’.
