Concept and creative process

The hexagonal generic identity for a Schools science series makes a visual reference to the universality of the hexagonal shape in Nature and in Science, seen here in the introduction to a Biology programme. The hexagonal interlinking cellular structure was filmed as separate back-lit coloured shots on the rostrum camera as it zoomed out and the artwork was rotated. The superimposed shots of the four hexagons mixed to a single colour as they came together, linking the title of the programme with the identity of the generic science series.
