‘Trail Blazer’ was a BBC2 channel ident for the Spring/Summer campaign 1996. It was a computer-generated animation depicting the ‘2’ in speed skating mode, waiting for the start of a speed trial on a perfectly straight ice track which stretches away to the distant horizon. Tension mounts as the ‘2’ recoils and catapults itself off at such velocity that it leaves behind a trail of burning flames in its wake on the ice surface.
