Concept and creative process
The 1969 design for the BBC1 Colour Clock was curiously in monochrome, although of course the black and white TV set viewers would have been unaware of the fact! It showed the minutes at 5-second intervals as two light parallel strokes becoming progressively bolder as they approached the hour. The clock matched the Mirrored Globe in respect of the BBC1 logo and the ‘COLOUR’ legend centred underneath, separated by a continuous line across the screen.
