Concept and creative process
A new design for the BBC tv clock was introduced circa 1964 in a style compatible with a parallel redesign of the Globe logo, with slanting blocks matching the bold italic sans serif upper case ‘BBC’, but dropping the adjunct 'tv' altogether. The circular motif of the clockface, like the Globe, was contained within a larger white square block with the revised slanted BBC logo in the bottom right corner. This slanted BBC logo continued in use, with slight tweaks to the shape of the boxes, until 1971.
