Applying to Ravensbourne

If you haven't used all five of your choices, you should be able to add more in UCAS Hub (provided it's before the end of June and you haven't accepted or declined any offers already). If this sounds like you, head to the UCAS website to find out more.

If you haven't yet made an application via UCAS, it's not too late to start. You can browse our undergraduate courses and apply through UCAS in the normal way up until 30 June. After 30 June, you can still apply but your application will be processed through a process called Clearing.

If you have used all your choices on your original application and you're not holding any offers, you can apply using UCAS Extra. You'll be able to apply until 4 July. We have places available on a wide range of courses, from undergraduate BA (Hons) and BSc (Hons) degrees to four-year degrees with an integrated foundation year, so you're sure to find something you'll love. 

If you're eligible for UCAS Extra, an "Add an Extra choice" button will appear when you sign in to UCAS Hub. Use this to submit your application to us.

Home students
Submit your application to Ravensbourne via UCAS.

Overseas students 
Submit your application via UCAS and add Ravensbourne as one of your choices, or apply directly via the application link on your chosen course page.

Receive confirmation that you have submitted your application, and your applicant portal login details.

Our admissions team will assess your qualifications, personal statement, and anything else you have submitted as part of your application.

Please note: An interview and portfolio is not required for every course, if the course you are applying to does not require you to submit a portfolio or attend an interview, please skip the next step and go straight to step 5.

Portfolio review courses

• If you haven’t shared it already, we’ll invite you to share your portfolio with us.
• Your portfolio will then be reviewed by a member of the academic team for your course.

Interviewing courses

• If you’re eligible, we’ll send you a link to select an interview date and time that works for you.
• You’ll be asked to share your portfolio a few days before your booked interview.

If your application is successful, you will receive an offer which you can view on both UCAS and your Ravensbourne applicant portal. Your offer may be conditional or unconditional depending on whether you have already met our entry requirements or if your qualifications are still in progress.

Unconditional offers

You may receive an unconditional offer in cases where, through your application, you have demonstrated strong academic potential, creativity and motivation for your chosen course. It’s important that you keep working hard on your current studies. Future employers and graduate schemes often consider your full academic history in addition to your degree results.

You can choose to accept your offer and make Ravensbourne your firm choice via UCAS.

The process is made simple by using UCAS Hub:

1. Log onto UCAS Hub
2. Go to the ‘Your choices’ section and click on the 'Reply to your offers' link
3. Select Ravensbourne University R06 and click ‘Make this my firm choice’. If you have a conditional offer from Ravensbourne you will also need to select an insurance choice.

If you applied via UCAS and are studying UK qualifications, we will usually receive your grades automatically. Otherwise, you’ll need to send us your final grades and certificates.

If you are an international student and you require a CAS, we’ll invite you to upload the required information to our CAS platform and provide instructions for paying your CAS deposit. 

Once you receive your CAS, you can apply for your visa. After your visa has been issued, you can travel to the UK.

Before you apply, here are some things you can do to make sure that you have all the information you need: 

• Research Ravensbourne's courses to find the one that's the best fit for your future
• Check if you need a student route visa to study in the UK and make a note of the deadline for its application
• Check the entry requirements for your chosen course. Note that the academic qualifications can differ from course to course so be sure to look at the relevant section for the exact course you are applying for
• Search our online international qualifications guide to compare your international qualifications with UK equivalents
• Check the tuition fees and scholarship opportunities for your course
• If you are under 18, make sure that your parent or guardian is happy to sign the consent form and provide us with details of a UK based guardian.

Start your application as early as possible by finding your course on the Ravensbourne website Study page and apply directly from your chosen course page.

Your online application will ask you to attach the following documents for review:

• Personal statement
• Portfolio or showreel (this depends on which course you are applying for)
• Evidence of your relevant qualifications
• Your passport (photo page)
• A reference
• Any relevant scholarship information (if you have been awarded an external scholarship)

Be sure to answer every question on the application form with as much detail as possible, so that our admissions officers can review your application.

Your application will be checked to verify that you have submitted all the required documents as well as your portfolio/showreel.

If your application is successful at this stage, we will contact you regarding the next steps, for example by inviting you to book an interview.
